Patti Weinberg

Studio Director

Patti Weinberg, was born in the Los Angeles area in 1970 where she began a rich and fulfilling career in the world of dance. First dancing at the age of 5, she trained in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Spanish, Hawaiian, and acrobatics at Annette’s School of Dance. She learned dance techniques there as well as the joy of teaching and sharing her dance knowledge with others. After training there for 10 years she started dancing with Rikki Lugo, a renowned choreographer and dance teacher. She then began touring with Rikki Lugo’s Jazz Company in the Southern California area. During this time she also embarked on her acting career doing extra work on Beverly Hills 90210 and Doogie Houser. Patti then fell in love with the musical theater world, took voice lessons and hit the stage, performing professionally in many musical productions such as, Peter Pan, The King and I, No, No Nanette, Carousel, Brigadoon, Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy with Joanne Worley.

She then took a break from dance to get a degree in Interior Design and worked in that field for a few years only to realize that her true calling was to teach dance and has been doing so professionally for the past 20 years.

In 1997 Patti opened Stage Door to share her love of dance to the Encinitas community. Her passion is to not only teach children to dance, but to teach life skills such as self-discipline and commitment. Dance is an amazing opportunity and can open many doors for a child now and for a lifetime.
